If you remember the controversial black-blue, white-gold dress, you might understand how differences in the way we perceive the color. The degree of brightness and exposure of lighting can influence color in the living room interior design. Therefore, considering the colors set for the living room is an essential task because it is the most commonplace in the house for the whole family to spend time and welcoming guests.

Color is an essential part of any room design. The color scheme can decide and direct our mood to be more relaxed, comfortable, or energetic, and focus. Thus, depending on the function of the room, one color can be better than the others.

Thus each color associated with the different emotions and characters of each person.

The Color Anatomy

Red

Red is the color of power, passion, and strength. It can create an intense sense of the living room design. The living room is the most commonplace in the house for family, friends, and guests to gather. Therefore, it is better to mix red with monochromatic colors like white, black, and gray to avoid being chaotic.

Mahogany, Rosewood, and Maroon are compatible red tones with the matured, romantic room, while Scarlet, Amaranth, and Crimson are younger and more dynamic.

Blue

Blue, on the other hand, is the opposite color to red in terms of emotion. Even though blue is the intellectual color that provides a sense of calmness, safe and elegant.; it is quite tricky to decor an impressive living room. Baby Blue and Cyan are the popular ones for the Coastal and Electic style while Navy, Sapphire, and Persian usually seen in Traditional design.

Yellow

Because it is one of the primary hues, mixing the living room with small yellow furniture is better than layout whole background with bright-tone Lemon or Pineapple Yellow saturation.

Green

We usually see green as a color used in hospital architects and medical brands. It is the secondary color combination between yellow and blue. Thus, decoration with green offers a sense of balance, harmony, and nature. Green is the safe bet when applying it on the living room background wall because of its versatility when pairing with other colored schemes. A green-pink room is stylish and unique, while leather and dark wood color are adding a luxurious sense for the home space.

Purple

The Holywood Regency modern living room style is the one that highly admires the artistic in the combination of green and purple. The best feature of purple is from the mix between the passion vibe in red and the trustworthy in blue. Combine these two features, the purple scheme does bring not only the loyalty mood but also implies deep, spiritual, and mysterious feelings.

Orange

Orange presents the characteristic of fun and dynamic, similar to yellow. Since this is a high saturation tone, the other interior in the orange set should be monochromatic such as cream, gray, or black. Green is also a great mix because it is the opposite color in the color wheel, create a high contrasted flow suitable for the junior home.

Life is not completed without color

In the modern interior design, each color stand-alone conveys the different meanings and feelings for the who set. Even with the singular monochrome scheme, combining color requires the elegant in designer view to conducting a cohesive living room for not only attractive looking but also pleasant for living.
