“If you can organize your kitchen, you can organize your life”

– Louis Parrish

Besides the consideration of choosing kitchen items, cabinetry, color scheme,… pick a right backsplash also gives a breakthrough complement to your interior design. Not only make your kitchen clean, fresh but also add a touch of aesthetic and subtlety. Bring a balance between function and decoration while creating a perfect place to show your style.

Color, material, and texture are important things you should consider before making up any room, and the kitchen does in the same way.  These below collections will offer tons of creative spiration to complete your dream kitchen. Start your journey and discover new ideas!

1. Marble

The most popular building material used for doing the backsplash. With a glossy surface, beautiful pattern, and a variety of colors, marble stone brings beauty, warmth, and luxury to your kitchen. Adding a huge effect on both decoration and protection. It can be resistant to water, dust, scratching, and keep a timeless ambiance. If you want to enhance the aesthetic look of your kitchen as inexpensive as you can, marble stones are your final target. Besides, it requires a little bit of maintenance, but easily you just need to check and cover a waterproofing layer once a year. Whether you choose either traditional or modern style, it will blend with the existing design well.

2. Tiles

Many kinds of tile designs will fit with your desire, such as diagonal tile, subway tile, herringbone tile, and more. To choose the right tiles, firstly, look back on your budget. If you are on a budget, porcelain, and ceramic material are suitable for you. Then think about shape and color, which should match with other decorations. As an example, white tiles will create harmony perfectly with white countertops and gray-blue lower-cabinet, while the herringbone tiles are a good choice to add whimsy and multi-dimension look. Moreover, the dark grout lines will finish and stand out your backsplash.

3. Mirror

If you want to add a unique effect to your kitchen, a mirrored backsplash is what you’re looking for. It creates a high-impact, makes your small kitchen bigger and lighter. Receiving and getting the most out of lighting to brighten up your space. Also, reflecting the opposite decorations to provide a big statement.  And when appears any oil splatter streak on the surface, it’s easy to clean. You can freely show your cool style by using abstract design or mirrored subway/penny tile.

Full of mirrored backsplash maybe overwhelm your eyes. The solution is to combine it with other materials that not only direct the visual impact but also provide an excellent style.

4. Stainless steel

Think about the effect of a backsplash? Protect the wall? Dustproof? Water-free? Resist heat and oil? No matter what you need, stainless steel backsplash is the ideal option.  It has enough required conditions such as affordability, durability, long-lasting, manageable installation, and good-looking. Also, it reflects light, adds a subtle illusion to your kitchen.

You can easily mix up it with other designs to create a deep connection. For instance, stainless steel material with a mosaic pattern, diamond-shape tile run from countertop to cabinet, or even white subway glass tile with stainless steel stripes.  Anyway, showcase your style and amaze your guest.

5. Concrete

Whether you want to add an industrial or contemporary look, concrete material can work well. It is not only cost-effective but also functional to remodel your kitchen. Unlike the other elements, it can get any shape, texture, and style from vintage, minimalism to modern. However, concreted backsplash may adsorb liquids (water, oil, juice,..). As a result, you can increase the protection level by sealing the surface carefully or adding a glass screen, and reestablishing every one to three years.

6. Wood

Wood is a timeless tendency on both decoration and construction that makes you fall in love at first glance. A wooden backsplash will add a rustic vibe, chic, and warm feeling to your kitchen. Thanks to a variety of textures, shades, and looks, it can create a range of eye-catching designs while complementing the existing decorations. But it should be noticed that wooden material doesn’t have high protection effect. Humidity, heat, fat, and oil will erode it day by day, so before finishing the installation, painting a waterproof layer to make it more long-lasting.

Choosing wood to make a backsplash is a good option when your space doesn’t already have wood or laminate floor. Besides, associate it with warm light will enhance the visual look.

7. Wall Paper

The easiest and cheapest way to dress up your kitchen backsplash! You can select many different patterns, either floral, geometric, art, to a single color. It will make your kitchen fresh, beautiful, and add a touch of uniqueness. This is an ideal DIY project that everyone can do without a wrong or mistake. Think out of the box and let people see what you can do.
