written by Agnes Ho February 2, 2020

The bathroom is the ideal place to relax and release all your negative energy after a long day. Therefore, many people want to make it as natural as possible and there is nothing that can do better than a houseplant. It does not only bring a natural look but also purify the air and reduce toxically.

Although the bathroom has advantageous conditions for the thriving of the plant such as humid air, stable temperature and available water source in hand, it doesn’t mean that all kinds of plants can “live” well. You should consider the demand for light and the moisture of each plant before making your decision. Take a long, hard look at these plants below, you can easily find the one fit with your need.

1. Mother In Law Tongue

Also known as “snake plants,” “Saint George’s sword”. The snake plants have many unexpected benefits. It can considerably remove toxins such as formaldehyde, xylene, toluene, and nitrogen oxide. Absorb and convert Carbon dioxide to Oxygen effectively in both day and night. On the other hand, it creates fresh air while adding a beautiful and comfortable touch to your space. Because of these incredible abilities, it was called a natural air purifier by NASA.
Another strong point that makes it stands out of the crowd is it doesn’t need as much maintenance as you think. These plants can thrive on neglect. It would be best if you water once a month and sometimes place it under the sunlight to prevent its leaves from turning yellow. If you are looking for a feng shui plant, the snake plant is good for you to begin.

Lucky bamboo isn’t bamboo at all. According to Wikipedia, it reaches a height of 100 cm (39 in) and has slightly twisted leaves of grey-green color, with a length of which is up to 23 cm (9 in). The stem is fleshy, which distinguishes it from bamboo. You can put it in any room which you like except for the bedroom. In the bathroom, it brings an aesthetic feeling and blows a breath of fresh air to your space. Placing lucky bamboo on the shelf over the toilet is the perfect choice to reduce the negative energies. You also can arrange it behind the toilet for the same purification purposes. To care for lucky bamboo, do not place it in direct sun or keep the water level too high. All you need is pebbles, rocks or glass chips, and enough water in a pot for it to take root.
